It’s like March Madness up here in the Barclays Fantasy Football League with only ten weeks (this one included) left there’s a close race for the finish. Fantasy managers have been caught of guard and a few have made big moves cutting into their point lead to try and get an edge on the competition. it’s all on how you view your team you want to catch points but don’t want to give up players who might just hit it that week you do… so what to do?

We Here at WCN have some tips for you to keep your point total “Above Average”

First off, stick with what’s working…there’s a reason thirty seven percent of Fantasy mangers have Van Persie and thirty two percent have Rooney and who knows how many have both at the moment but that’s because they are players who get results be it an assist or goal almost every game. That is the kind of point power you need on your team coming into the final.

Next as I said in one of my other Barclays Fantasy Football Tips post where i spoke about players who are teams fighting to stay above the relegation zone. Take a look at the post to get some good cheap names coming into the home stretch.

Also look at fixtures, Man-u has a pretty easy run in the final ten weeks and that’s why I picked up Evra on D. With Kompany being out it was only logical that my replacement be a top table team. I may look into getting some more players too as the season comes to an end.

So let’s take a look at this weeks line up for the dead rabbits…yeah week since the majority of the games are Tuesday and Wednesday next week…I know it’s sucks and no work will be done those days either.

Van Persie – Everton away could be a good chance to get one maybe two goals out of VP but I still prefer players to have home field advantage

Adebayor – Mentioned this week by the scout i’m sure he’ll be picked up by managers “just cause” but Stoke at home does sound good for points

Yakubu – my attempt at finding a diamond in the rough. I’m hoping he can build on the assist from last week when they host the ailing Black Cats

Midfielders

Bale – Home turf will hopefully allow for more oppertunites for Bale to be involved in the play

Mata–  A big Fixture as they go into Manchester to play City…this will be the match to watch closely

Silva – Home field advantage and coming off a one-nil loss to Swansea City will be looking to hold their perfect home record in tact

Johnson – My reliable two point bench warmer will be in the second spot this week

Henderson –As I said in the results post on tuesday i’ve had to keep him and avoid taking point deductions this late in the season

Defenders

Evra – Back on the Dead Rabbits roster for the first time since game week 16 sub out for Jones will be playing the Wolves Away

McAuley – After losing so many points by keeping him on the bench he’s moved up to the first replacement spot

Taylor – Coming off a huge win at home Swansea will be looking to keep that momentum rolling at Craven Cottage

Taylor R – Can’t trade him so he’s on the last spot on the bench until he get’s better

Simpson – You have to have three defense on at all times and Norwich at home will provide a good cushion

Goal Keepers

Vorm – Vorm killed it last week and got a bonus but Fulham and Dempsey are on fire right now so i’m taking Al-Habsi this week

Al-Habsi- Hosting West Brom this week and with Odemwinge possible not fit to play the offense will not “likely” be there

So best of luck this week fellow managers in this weeks March Madness for Barclays Fantasy Football

With Liverpool v. Everton finishing up little over an hour ago we can get to the results for this weeks Barclays Fantasy Football League. with bonuses still pending for the Liverpool game we’ll just go forward with our results. On the subject of Liverpool we recommended that you pick up Liverpool players since they had a double game week. If this is your first time reading on our site you can check out our post on preparing for the Barclays Fantasy Football League

Now on the Dead Rabbits we picked up Henderson in midfield for this game week and we were able to catch five points (pending any bonuses from tonight’s fame) and with the injuries to Kompany and Taylor R it looks like I’ll have to keep him a little bit longer than expected. As a result I’ll have to look for defenders and I have a few that I already like heading into the end of the season.

I mentioned in one of my previous post that Keepers never get a bonus, well this week Vorm’s eight save shot out over Man City got him an actual bonus point! It should have been more but since they won one nil the other bonuses went to the assist and scorer. Also on the Swansea side Taylor was our highest performing defender, with Simspon getting one and then McAuley with the same scoreline (once subbed in)

Across the mid we had nothing better than Mata’s assist on the weekend and the rest just got their two points, hopefully a trend that stops this game week.

Up Front with strikers Yakubu’s assist in their win helped my captaincy a bit and Van Persie continues to light up the league with a goal and max bonus. Adebayor only logged fifty three minutes and probably was subbed for Saha but that’s only speculation since i didn’t get to see their game this week. I hope Redknapp keeps playing the two together as they make a pretty good offensive threat.

So if you have any ideas or recommendations for Defenders this week i’ll take them but i have already been swayed to a Man-U selection just need to decide which one, Jones or Evra

You’ll have to wait until Thursday night when I post my Barclays Fantasy Football Tips for Gameweek 29

This week for the Barclays Fantasy Football league tips my head is a bit hazy… I went out to watch the Toronto FC host David Beckham and the LA Galaxy. I’ll write a post about it and throw in a couple of pictures taken from the game but right now I will concentrate of helping you guys set up your fantasy football team.

With only ten weeks left in the Fantasy Premier league managers will have to be nimble coming into the last weeks if they want to capture as many points as they can. Even though you never know how each individual player will play; or even play at all, you can set up your team with performers and hope for the best.

Gameweek 28 provides a very easy outlet for points generation. A double game week with Everton and Liverpool.

Easiest tip for points. If you have one or two transfers for this game week pick up players from Liverpool or Everton. I would suggest taking players from the better team Liverpool but even then they’re not that great

For myself I picked up Henderson in lieu of Sessegnon’s suspension and now I’ll hope that he plays in each game. If he happens to produce then that will be a bonus. This will likely just be a single gameweek acquisition and I’ll swap him back out for another 7-ish ranged mid fielder.

Van Persie –Newcastle have been struggling to win and have given up at least one goal in each of their two draws, Van Persie should be on the end of one of those goals

Adebayor – Ade and Saha are a great duo up front Playing Everton in their first of two games they may not play their best players

Yakubu – He didn’t work out as Captain but I’ll give him this week to see if he can still manage to make the Dead Rabbits roster

Midfielders

Bale – For the Spurs to win away they’ll need to keep up the pressure and not let Everton get quick breaks Spurs should wins this game

Mata–  Playing Stoke at home will be good for the blues if they can string back to back home wins

Silva – The Big question for this weekend is who will play? We’ll just have to wait and see who Mancini plays

Johnson – My reliable two point benchwarmer may come on again this week

Henderson – picked up for Sessegnon and he has a double game week so no harm there.

Defenders

Kompany – It seems teams always having a tough time playing Swansea at home, this will be City’s first kick at the can

McAuley – My second bench defenseman who killed it last week and stayed on the bench…still not happy.

Taylor – City are a big offensive threat but the home field advantage will help to be honest I’m not expecting much from my D-line this week.

Taylor R – Arsenal at home and no wins in their last three as I said above this will not be a defensive week for my Fantasy Football Team

Simpson – He’s going to be my Second bench player this weekend

Goal Keepers

Vorm – Al-Habsi looks like the better chance at keeping the goals down but in Vorm I trust…

Al-Habsi-

Game week 27 for the Barclays Fantasy Football League was a bit disappointing for my team.  This late in the season it’s good to stay above average.  When you look at the averages the highest score this week was 119 points. That person only joined the fantasy premier league seven weeks ago. Sometimes it’s just a lucky guess.

I was happy to have my fantasy football captain play, there were a lot of people who did have their captains’ play and missed out on the double points. With Silva,Bale and Augero all not playing fantasy managers had to resort to their bench, and if you don’t have a good bench it can hurt you. While we’re talking bench how about my last guy…McAuley bonus, clean sheet and a goal for a defender. A nice 15 points left behind. That hurt

Van Persie cleaned up yet again with two goals and max bonus showing why 36 percent of all the Barclays fantasy football league has him.

The other bright spots on my team this week were recent Pick up Taylor, Kompany and Vorm all with clean sheets.

I’m going to go back to the drawing board with Sessegnon being out until March 24 and see what good mid fielders there are for around 7m

If you have any suggestions I will gladly take them but it will be a straight swap as I still see managers throwing away points on transfers. And with the league being so tight this year every point matters

Welcome to this week’s Barclays Fantasy Football Tips. I have been asked by some of our readers why do you only show your team and who you can trade for. Well I only have one team this year for the fantasy football league but next year I will make one soley for this site and you the readers can have even more of a say to who plays and who stays!

This week I figured I would give you some tips as to who to look for as performers in the next couple of weeks. The easiest answer is to look at the relegation race or the battle to stay in the Barclays Premier League.

Wigan,Bolton,QPR,Blackburn and the Wolves are all separated by two points. That’s what I refer to as “death ground” the win or die attitude that these players now face is one that makes or breaks teams. This pressure can either motivate or crush players. In the next coming weeks you’ll start to see who wants to survive and who has accepted their fate.

You can get cheap players who will have to perform. Look at Moses and Gomez on Wigan, Fletcher and Jarvis on the Wolves,Zamora and Barton on QPR,Eagles and Klasnic on Bolton and finally Gamst Perdersen and Yakubu on Blackburn.  Also, don’t shy away from their defense either as to win you do have to stop the other team from scoring.

Forwards

Van Persie – As Strange as this sounds Liverpool tend to keep teams off the score sheet at home. Hopefully their schedule has tired them out.

Adebayor – Sunday’s must watch fixture is sure to be good what ever way the scoring goes.

Yakubu – As I said above, you have to have one or two players on your fantasy football team that are fighting for survival. A trade out for Graham who will and has done well this year but I want some dirty grit on my team now.

Midfielders

Bale – Playing at home is really the only advantage they have. Hopefully a two two tie will be the result.

Mata– West Bron are coming off a confident home win and get to play at home again this week but Chelsea is a lot different then Sunderland

Silva – with Yaya Toure back he looked amazing last week, this week should be no different.

Johnson – My reliable two point benchwarmer

Sessengnon – West Brom shut him out last week, hopefully this week Newcastle will allow one,and only one as I have some D-men

Defenders

Kompany – When teams like City go ballistic on offense there isn’t much need for defense and easy clean sheet can be had…this week shouldn’t be to different

McAuley – My second bench defenseman

Taylor – Swans have a great goals against average at home so he was picked up on the Yakubu trade.

Taylor R – Back to playing form it was good to see him last week. We will see what he can produce at home this weekend

Simpson – He’s going to be my first bench player this weekend since I want to give Taylor a shot and see what he can do.

Goal Keepers

Vorm

Al-Habsi-

I have Vorm in but he’s still listed as sick so if he’s out again Al-Habsi will be automatically substituted in.

Best if luck this week ladies and gents…I’ve also started to think about doing the occasional. Barclays Fantasy Football Tips video and posting them on YouTube but I’ll wait for the delivery of my new laptop first!
