.

This coming week for Barclays Fantasy Football Managers offers a sit wait approach. There are realativley no injuries to say which normally make it a bit easier to pick you fantasy football team. It’s at this point where you need to see who has been playing well and have them on and hope they play well.

What I like to do is to look back at the history of the last time the two teams playing to see if we can get clues about who will play well. You can see this example in my last “Barclays Fantasy Football Tips” post where I picked up Graham based on his previous performance. And for those who follow my posts you saw how that resulted in ten points.

If I use that method to select who will be my captian, the best player becomes Graham who scored that last time he played Stoke. Then I would have Silva,Mata,Bale and Adebayor all who had one assist each in their respective games. So, sometimes it’s not a good indicator to use. So since I’m not looking to transfer anyone right now it will be a crap shoot. Put the players on who you think will do well against weak or struggling teams and hope for the best

Barclays Fantasy Football League Tips Gameweek 26

Forwards

Van Persie – Playing against Tottenham at home he will have the home field advantage. So as a result I’m going to have him as captain

Adebayor – listed as injured it may be a way for the spurs to get under Arsenals skin. If. He is in can rely on my bench.

Graham – Playing Stoke away if The swans want to keep or get back into a good rhythm they’ll have to be able to win away

Midfielders

Bale – Arsenal away won’t be easy but he should be able to get some chances.

Mata– Bolton at home will provide some entertainment and some good chances to score or at least assist.

Silva – After losing to Aston Villa city will be gunning for some much needed offense and a better result. This will give him more chances to assist.

Johnson – Back to the bench as he failed to book any minutes last week.

Sessengnon – West Brom away isn’t really easy but Sessengnon and McLean will provide some needed offense.

Defenders

Kompany – Part of helping the team win will take some much needed defense and Kompanys job will be to shut down Yakubu…who’s started to be on my radar

McAuley – My second bench player this weekend gets a chance

Jose Enrique –He’s back on his grind but Liverpool aren’t playing football this Saturday

Taylor R – You can’t get anything decent for him unless it’s a two player trade…hold for now

Simpson – Playing the Wolves at home will boad well for Simpson who tends to play better at home.

Goal Keepers

Vorm – Even though they are playing away I feel that Stoke aren’t too much of an offensive team

Al-Habsi-

as a test we’ll see who points it out first….

.

.

As always Tuesday brings that chance for Barclays Fantasy Football managers a chance to look back and see if their choices during the week paid off. Let’s take my best player for gameweek 25 Emmanuel Adebayor, over the last five weeks he has dropped 300K in price and over two hundred and eighty nine thousand Fantasy Premier League managers had dropped him. All of which just missed his twenty one point performance. This just goes to show that there is a bit of luck and patience that goes into being a fantasy football manager.

Speaking of a bit of luck, take a look at my second highest point player. Danny Graham on Swansea, the first week I pick him up he scores two in a losing match against a strong Norwich team. Now you can’t predict how players will play or even if they will play and that is where a little deductive/common sense research comes into play. When I was considering picking Graham up I looked at the last time he played Norwich. They lost three to one in that game but Graham played all ninety minutes and scored their only goal. That was also an away game too. With all those factors it seemed logical that graham, who would be playing at home now, would have a similar performance. These are all factors any Barclays Fantasy Football manager should be looking at when transferring players.

Now on my midfield a little patience is needed. The only performer was Silva and that was simply due to a generous bonus given to him. Otherwise it would have been a full house of two’s and three’s. which just shows that even some times close to forty million pounds isn’t put to work like it should be.

Fantasy Premier League Results Gameweek 25

Summing things up for this weeks Barclays Fantasy Football League my defence. The three of them which are some of the top three defenders didn’t have a good week either. Simpson and Jose Enrique had one point between the two of them. Not good. A bright spot was Kompany’s full ninety minutes in a clean sheet performance.

So we’ll look to see what Gameweek 26 of the Barlclays Fantasy Football League has in store for us

Welcome to this weeks Barclays Fantasy Football League post helping Fantasy Premier League managers jump over one another to get to the top of their respective leagues. With top table fixtures with Liverpool visiting United and the Spurs Hosting Newcastle there will be plenty of good football to watch. Away form will play into consideration for Managers who have Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal players.

Looking back at last weeks addition to the Dead Rabbits it was a pivotal week. You may say but you didn’t move anywhere in position. Sometimes not moving is better than moving at all. After buying Van Persie and selling Rooney if I had of picked anyone else like Ba or Aguero(who both had decent gameweeks) I would have moved down and almost out of the race for any of my leagues. I say it was blind luck but I’m thankful I caught those points

If last week was an indication of anything defense and clean sheets will be hard to come by as only five of the twenty clubs managed to keep one last week. One Match to keep an eye on is between two promoted clubs Swansea hosting Norwich. These are two teams who have been climbing the league table with confidence. With half of all home matches resulting in a clean sheet Swansea look ripe to avenge their three one loss.

With names like Taylor R, Terry, Jose Enrique, Kompany, and Jagielka on all showing injured or doubtful Fantasy Football Managers can look to scoop up points from hidden gems and get away from the dynamic of having the same team as everyone else.

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 25

Forwards

Van Persie – well I hardly expect a repeat of last week but you know he’ll be called upon in a fixture against Sunderland who are hot right now.

Adebayor – To be honest seeing him subbed off last week for Saha has me a little worried, if the goalless substitution trend continues I will have to put money else where

Best – Now subbed out for Graham, who is Swansea’s go to guy up front and with a healthy eighty eight points and valued at four point nine he’s a bargain

Midfielders

Bale – Last weeks performance was a little underwhelming but it will be a good fixture to watch and we can expect a good match

Mata– Just like Van persie I don’t expect a repeat but playing Everton away may open an opportunity to do so.

Silva – last game of the weekend I’ll probably watch from a pub but when everyone has him, his points don’t really matter.

Johnson – Back to the bench as he failed to book any minutes last week.

Sessengnon – In a game against Arsenal any hope of a draw or win will fall to both him and McClean

Defenders

Kompany – Nursing a knee injury and showing a seventy five percent chance of playing I’ll field him in the expectation of him playing.

McAuley – I’ll start him on the bench but wouldn’t be surprised if called upon due to injuries. Hopefully the Wolves will take it easy on him

Jose Enrique –I’m going to start him but I HIGHLY doubt he’ll play

Taylor R – After last week and being sent off on a stretcher it was confirmed later that there is no broken bones and it is all soft tissue damage

Simpson – Playing against the spurs he’ll have a big challenge in front of him.

Goal Keepers

Vorm – Vorm at home… nothing else really needs to be said.

Al-Habsi-

This was one of those pivotal game weeks for Fantasy Premier League Managers, I consider myself lucky this week as I said in my previous Barclays Fantasy Football League Tips post I would treat myself to a player who had not been on the dead rabbits roster. That player was Van Persie, who, this week had an astounding twenty three point performance, forty six if you had him as captain. The only unfortunate problem with that is 37.3% of managers have him.

The player swapped out for him was Rooney who also had a good week scoring two penalties in a great match to watch against Chelsea with twelve points including bonus. The other counterpart to that game was a player I have Juan Mata who had thirteen points with a goal and an assist (bonus included) A great game to watch as United came from behind to draw at three. That speaks volumes about how Chelsea seem to slack once they get a lead even if it’s one goal. That is why I have always been hesitant to pick up Chelsea defenders.

Barclays Fantasy Football League Game Week History

You can see that in the last five game weeks my average gameweek score has been 63.6 which is the kind of pace you need to keep up when trying to win your fantasy football league. We all want the bragging rights and the trophy if your league has one. Which ours does.

Getting back to performances, looking at the Stoke v. Sunderland fixture Sessengon and Mclean worked well again to bolster the three point win and put Sunderland just six points behind Liverpool. A big jump in performance when compared to last year. As we come into the later part of the season I hope the intensity to win will still be there for them.

When looking at my defenders the Jose Enrique and Kompany substitutions kind of hurt as Simpson and McAuley only combining for two points. If they had of played both would have a clean sheet getting at least six points each. This now brings me the injury portion of my team.

Moving forward and talking strategy for Barclays Fantasy Football League I need to now look at who’s injured and who may play. With Best ruled out until March 17th the immediate need to fill spot is upfront. It’s coincidental since I was getting rid of him once Ba returned. What troubles me now is that I have three defenders all with injuries, Taylor R, Jose Enrique and Kompany.

You’ll want to look at the five teams in the bottom as they will all be fighting to stay out or get out of the relegation zone. Fletcher on the Wolves and Zamora on QPR are cheap in price and will be leaned on to perform as the season closes. It’s just a matter if they can perform under that kind of pressure.

From my stand point I’ll be looking at defenders this week and obviously seeking out who has the most clean sheets this season, I’m inclined to say Swansea and Newcastle but with the new premier league site and the EA sports index all the traditional stats are harder to find. I guess that’s fair since doing the research is what wins and winning isn’t easy or we’d all be champions.

Keep an eye out on Thursday Friday, like always, for my Barclays Fantasy Football League Tips for Gameweek 25

With Chelsea hosting United and Liverpool Hosting the Spurs not only are we in for some great football this weekend but Fantasy Premier League Managers are racking their brains on how to get the most points possible. With seven clean sheets in the previous mid-week gameweek the offense was obviously lacking. Injuries to Rooney and Nani also add in the “who to replace them with” additive to only make it harder.

These are the gameweeks when the majority of Premier League Fantasy Teams start to shift from looking alike to being different. This is when the moves are made. If you can be lucky enough to seize a players run like Bale or Modric of last week you can definitely jump over Managers ahead of you.

I think for this week with the likelihood of Rooney and Nani not playing I will treat myself to some players yet to make the Dead Rabbits starting roster

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 24

Forwards

Rooney – As I said above I’m taking the chance to replace him for a week with Van Persie

Adebayor – Not a bad showing last gameweek even though it was overshadowed by Modric and Bale, the Spurs will need to be flying on all cylinders to beat Liverpool

Best – with Ba’s return it’s likely the goal scoring will shift to him but Ba’s is fatigued and may rest and Alan Pardew will keep in mind that Best scored when they last played the Villans

Midfielders

Bale – Top flight player and just like I said with Ade Liverpool is never one to take lightly

Nani – Nani is out this week and in his place will be Juan Mata. Chelsea will be looking to redeem their 3-1 loss from earlier

Silva – Fulham are a team that are mid-table but looking to climb, let’s hope Mancini read the roit act in order to get some offense after that loss

Johnson – Back to the bench

Sessengnon – Stoke will be looking to bounce back at home but I’m sure this will be a hard fought fixture.

Defenders

Kompany – A yellow card first game back… really. Oh well, last time City played Fulham it was a two all draw. Let’s hope for a better defensive presence

McAuley –Back to the Bench with ye…

Jose Enrique – A good clean sheet last week but with hosting the spurs the likelihood of that repeating is slim.

Taylor R – An assist and a clean sheet quite nice and playing Aston, Bent and other will pose a threat.

Simpson – Bench Player number two, I doubt he will be used but I’m confident I can use Simpson if called upon

Goal Keepers

Vorm –The last time Vorm played WBA they had a three nil victory… at home. Looking back at Vorm’s away performance it’s shaky at best. If the Swans want to have a swan song season…pun intended they’ll need to firm their away record up.

Some Perform some don’t… the ups and downs of Fantasy Premier League Players. Anyone who had Van Persie or Rooney would be disappointed. Since we’ve crossed that half way point in the season, legs begin to tire and players who maybe didn’t play as much in the first half will start to perform in the second.

From the Keeper side all the fantasy managers that had Krul in are laughing after his shut out and penalty saved. Some of the Managers that were the highest scoring had Newcastle Defenders and Keeper in and with seven clean sheets between all the teams it wasn’t hard to rack up six points per D-man.

It will be a quick switch over to Barclays Fantasy Football League Tips for Gameweek 24 which starts in a couple days and fixtures will be a deciding factor for any fantasy manager looking for an advantage as Liverpool hosting Spurs and Chelsea hosting United will only make it harder.

Keep’em or Leave’em…..that’s the question posing nearly 1.2 million fantasy managers that have Bale, nearly 664,378 for Nani and 808,097 for Rooney, let alone if you have all three. Seems I have to ask that question for all three of those players. I was hoping the long rest between Premier League games would allow for some recovery but it does look doubtful for this Wednesday.

With the Fantasy Premier League transfer deadline approaching just after this mid-week gameweek I’m sure teams and players will be changing. As such, I’m opting to keep my injured players on the field and risk having all my bench guys come one should they not play. That way I will have two free transfers heading into the weekend which will allow for flexible trades if any big moves come to pass.

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 23

Forwards

Rooney – Easy to say as he’ll be on my field but whether or not he plays Stoke is fine with me, I trust my bench.

Adebayor – I’m giving Ade the captains arm band this week. I feel that any professional athlete that is told they can’t play will come back with more vigor and determination to get back

Best – Coming off a five two loss Newcastle will be gunning to get a win and Blackburn will offer a good opportunity for three points

Midfielders

Bale – Bales seems to have the best chance at showing doubtful but playable but like I said with Rooney I’m not fearful of going to my bench

Nani – Nani seems to have taken the hardest hit, or at least that’s what it looked like on Sunday when they played Aresenal. Bench player ready

Silva – The return of Kompany will allow City to be more aggressive and open up for more goals which is good for all city stars

Johnson – My mid-fielder benchmen who got six points last week, I’ll have him in the number one bench spot

Sessengnon – Sunderland will be looking to even the series with Norwich at home but they’ll need Sessengnon’s support. Lets see what happens

Defenders

Terry – Defending against Swansea is never easy they have some quick little guys on their club and shouldn’t be taken lightly

McAuley – Another bench player but as a defender and playing a hot Fulham he’ll be the last on the bench

Jose Enrique – The Wolves have the ability to score and their hungry as their sitting in relegation. This will be a good match

Taylor R – Coming off a five goal loss (even though he played the last five minutes) all the Newcastle defenders will be looking to regain some creditability

Simpson – Bench Player number two, confident I can use Simpson if called upon

Goal Keepers

Vorm – The Swans always play better at home but Chelsea is never easy and last time four goals were scored

Al-Habsi-

Gameweek 22 proved to be a non clean sheet week with only three of the twenty Premier League teams keeping one. Norwich, Chelsea and Sunderland. Lucky for me I had two players one D and a Mid to capture those extra points. That being said the rest of my defense, and I’m sure yours too, got decimated. Simpson with a negative one Jose-Enrique with a zero and Taylor R for one. Not a good showing.

The only bright spot on my team this week came from recent acquisition Sessegnon, getting one goal and an assist with three bonus he supported the Dead Rabbits this week. Don’t get me wrong Bales goal and Silva’s assist helped out too in the lack of offense offered by Best and Rooney. Adebayor’s return against a weak Wigan will hopefully bolster some needed points

Watching the United game I was able to see Nani’s injury and it did look like it hurt but it’s not ligament damaged like Jones. I’ll keep him on board as the time between gameweeks is longer. The next EPL game isn’t until Tuesday the 31st. That being said my next Fantasy Premier League Tips post won’t be posted until the Sunday or Monday prior. Till then, Enjoy!

Yet another weekend approachs and gives Fantasy managers the dream of scoring that illustrious triple digit score.Such dreams are not allowed here. We entrench ourselves in reality and if our players don’t perform then they’re gone.

This weeks fixtures has past notes of very high scores. Again, don’t expect a repeat of an 8-2 blow out. Teams have changed, matured and become better since then. As much as I’d like for that to happen agian past results are not indicative of future performance. Keep a watchful eye for the guys in the middle of your league, close enough to strike with nothing to lose.

Forwards

Rooney – Coming off of a two assist performance one can say that Rooney is in fine form and will be called to step up and contribute against Arsenal.

Adebayor– Loan terms whether it’s bookie or a bank they all suck. So I’ve decided to just bench him for the week.

Best – I’m hoping that he’ll build on last weeks goal and continue to deliver.

Midfielders

Bale – One of the top midfielders he’s a staple for now, I gave the captain to Nani this week as he had a better showing last time.

Nani – only getting six last week I hope that he’ll be able to contribute more to the game this time around

Silva – Assisting on the lone goal last week fantasy managers will be expecting more from the number one midfielder.

Johnson – My mid-fielder benchmen who’s good for two this week if needed.

Sessengnon – I didn’t have any expectations last week for him as he was playing Chelsea but hosting the swans this week I do expect to see his name on the score sheet.

Defenders

Terry – After a clean sheet the first day out forthe Dead Rabbits, you can bet he’ll be around for a while.

McAuley – Another player listed as doubtful so I’ve put him on the last position of the bench

Jose Enrique – I count him as number three in all defensemen just by home much of a role he plays on Liverpool right now. Sure they can’t score but they’re not being scored on.

Taylor R – What can you say about defenders playing in midfield positions….points galore

Simpson –Playing this week in lieu of Adebayor’s terms it’s a good showing.

Goal Keepers

Vorm – I have to be careful as i’ve found quite an attachment for the Swans keeper and all the points he’s helped me get this season….but he’s in.

For fantasy managers like myself it’s been a trade off on offensive points versus clean sheet defending. Take a look at my bench this week, six points left there by having Simpson on the bench. Players like Taylor R who are raking up points quicker than some decently priced midfielders is…well if you’re not seeing it then you’re not in the top portion of your respective leagues.

As mention Taylor R and all my D played beautifully and amassed the majority of my points. Rooney had an unselfish showing with two assists but missed his chance for goal on a missed penalty.

As for my two transfers. Best scored the winner and received max bonus points as a result, and as mentioned I would expect him to be called on again due to Ba’s absence.Terry also provided a good start with a clean sheet. Sessegnon however only got two for playing but I did not expect him to perform against teams like Chelsea or United as his points tend to come from playing mid ranking teams. So I’ll reserve judgment until later.
